Use NjectAI in ChatGPT: better prompts and your context in every chat
NjectAI (also called Nject), the Chrome extension for AI memory, works inside ChatGPT on chatgpt.com. The message box gets Improve your prompt and Context Inject, Autocomplete suggests as you type, and a profile bar appears in new chats. Your messages and ChatGPT's answers go to the same NjectAI memory you use in Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok.
What does NjectAI do in ChatGPT?
In ChatGPT, NjectAI adds a small pill to the message box once you start typing and ChatGPT's send button is showing. The pill has two buttons. Improve your prompt rewrites your draft into a clearer prompt, and Context Inject adds your saved context to the message you send. Autocomplete offers the rest of your sentence in grey, and the Tab key accepts it.
When you are signed in and open a chat this browser has not seen before, a profile bar asks "Which profile you are using this time?", so you can pick a profile and inject it before you write. While you are signed in and Nject is switched on, the messages you send and the answers ChatGPT finishes are saved to your NjectAI memory. Every feature of the extension works in ChatGPT.

Where on chatgpt.com does NjectAI run?
NjectAI runs on chatgpt.com in every chat: a new chat, the chats in your history, your projects and the chats inside them, and chats with a custom GPT. It stays off in two places. One is the GPT Store, at chatgpt.com/gpts and the pages under it. The other is a GPT's own page, at chatgpt.com/g/ followed only by the GPT's id, where the GPT introduces itself before a chat begins.
So custom GPTs work with NjectAI once the chat has started. Your first message to a GPT goes out from its own page, without NjectAI. As soon as the chat gets its own address, NjectAI turns on and works there as in any other chat. NjectAI is a Chrome extension, so it works on chatgpt.com in your browser. The ChatGPT desktop and phone apps are outside the browser, and NjectAI does not run there.

How do I add my business context to ChatGPT?
Save your business details once in a NjectAI context profile, then add them to any ChatGPT message with Context Inject. Click the syringe in the pill, or Inject in the profile bar, and NjectAI shows "Context added. Sends with your next message." The message box stays as it is while you write. When you send, NjectAI puts your saved context after your message, with a blank line between them, so ChatGPT reads both and you can see the context in the chat.
NjectAI uses the first 1,000 characters of your message to choose which saved facts fit it. Click the syringe again to take the context back, and NjectAI shows "Context cleared." Moving to another chat before you send also drops it. More in Context Inject.
- Create a context profile with your field, your role, your goal and, if you like, your company.
- Open a new chat in ChatGPT. In the bar that asks "Which profile you are using this time?", pick the profile and click Inject. If the bar has gone, type your message first and click Context Inject in the pill.
- Write your message as usual.
- Send it. Your context goes out after your message.
How do I improve a prompt in ChatGPT?
Type a rough request in ChatGPT's message box and click Improve your prompt, the first button in the NjectAI pill. NjectAI sends your draft and your selected profile to its backend, then puts a fuller, clearer prompt in the box in place of your text. Nothing reaches ChatGPT until you press send, so you can read the new prompt and change it first.
After a rewrite, the button reads "Replay enhancement" and writes another version each time you click it, until you edit the text. A draft needs at least 3 characters and can be up to 1,000 characters long. Past that, NjectAI shows "Character Limit Exceeded". - Click in ChatGPT's message box and write what you want in your own words.
- Click Improve your prompt in the pill.
- Read the new prompt and edit it if you like.
- Press send.
Can ChatGPT share a memory with Claude and Gemini?
Yes, through NjectAI. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini each keep their own memory inside their own app. NjectAI keeps one memory for your account across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Grok and Grok on X. A profile you build once works in all of them, and what you send in ChatGPT is saved to the same memory as what you send in Claude or Gemini.
When you use Context Inject or Improve your prompt in any of these tools, NjectAI draws on that one memory and on your profile, wherever the chats took place. Does NjectAI save my ChatGPT chats?
Yes. While you are signed in and Nject is switched on, NjectAI saves each message you send in ChatGPT and each answer ChatGPT finishes while the page is open. Each answer is saved with the chat it belongs to and its place in the thread. When ChatGPT's page marks an answer with the model that wrote it, the model name is saved too. Older messages that were already on the screen are left alone.
Everything goes to the personal memory of your NjectAI account, the one NjectAI draws on whichever profile you pick. Saving runs with or without Nject Pro, and it has no switch of its own.
