NjectAI memory: what it saves from your chats and how your profiles use it

NjectAI memory is the long-term context behind your prompts, powered by MidBrain. Your account has a personal memory, and every profile has its own. While you are signed in and NjectAI is on, the messages you send and the AI's finished answers in supported tools are saved to your personal memory, so your context grows as you chat.

What is in my NjectAI memory?

NjectAI keeps two kinds of memory, and MidBrain, the NjectAI memory partner, holds both. Your personal memory holds your chats: the messages you send and the answers the AI gives in every supported tool. Each profile's memory holds what you gave that profile: its interview answers, the text read from its links, and the text of its files.

MemoryWhat it holdsWhen it fills
Personal memoryThe messages you send and the AI's answers, from every supported AI toolAs you chat, while you are signed in and NjectAI is on
Profile memoryThe profile's interview answers, the text of its links, the text of its files, and a written reading of its picturesWhen you create the profile, edit it or add files
Ready-made template profilesSample content about NjectAI itselfNever: their memory is shared and read-only

A picture in an Image profile is kept as a written description of its look and its colours, without the picture itself. A profile you make before your Nject Pro plan starts gets its memory once the plan is active. Learn what each profile kind asks for in context profiles.

Does NjectAI save my chats?

Yes. While you are signed in and the Nject switch is on, NjectAI saves your chats in supported AI tools to your personal memory. Each message you send is saved with its text, the site and its language. Each AI answer that finishes while the page is open is saved with its text, the tool, the chat it belongs to and, where the page shows it, the name of the AI model.

Answers already on screen when you open a page are left out. NjectAI saves what happens from then on.

Saving chats needs a signed-in account only, so it also runs when your account has no Nject Pro. Each account has a cap on how many messages it saves per minute, per hour and per day, and messages over the cap are dropped, so memory can miss messages during very heavy use. What is stored, and how to delete it, is covered in privacy and data.

Which AI tools does NjectAI learn from?

NjectAI saves chats from every AI tool it supports: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Grok and Grok on X. All of them feed one memory. The tool's name is only a label on each message, so what you tell ChatGPT sits in the same memory NjectAI reads in Claude or Gemini.

Do my profiles learn from my chats?

Your chats go into your personal memory, and every profile draws on it. When you use Improve your prompt, Context Inject or Autocomplete, NjectAI reads your personal memory next to the active profile's own memory. MidBrain builds a summary, facts and rules from the messages you send, and keeps the AI's answers as the history of each chat.

Your chats are saved to your personal memory only. A profile's own memory holds what you gave it: its answers, its links and its files. To teach a profile something that lasts, add a file to it on the dashboard, as files and links shows.

How is memory used?

Each NjectAI feature reads memory in its own way. Improve your prompt reads the most: your personal memory, the active profile's memory and up to 10 of the AI's last answers in the chat. Context Inject adds a block put together from your memory and your profile, with no AI rewrite. Autocomplete reads the profile's answers and up to 5 of the AI's last answers in the chat.

FeatureWhat it reads
Improve your promptPersonal memory summary, rules and notes; the profile's answers, memory, file summaries and links; up to 10 of the AI's last answers in the chat
Context InjectPersonal memory summary; the profile's memory summary, rules, matching facts, answers, links and files
AutocompleteThe profile's answers; up to 5 of the AI's last answers in the chat, or your personal memory summary in a chat with no saved answers yet

Your active profile decides which profile each feature reads. Pick it in the profile bar or the Select Profile panel, as choose a profile shows.

How do I stop NjectAI from saving my chats?

Turn off the Nject switch in the toolbar menu, or sign out. Click the Nject icon in your browser's toolbar to open the menu. With the switch off, its line reads "Extension temporarily disabled", NjectAI leaves every tab and saves nothing.

There is no separate switch for saving chats. Improve your prompt, Context Inject and Autocomplete stop too while NjectAI is off, and turning off Autocomplete alone does not stop saving.

Can I see or delete my memory?

Deleting a file or a profile deletes the memory made from it. Your personal memory, which holds your chats, has no view or delete button in the NjectAI app or the dashboard today. For anything about your personal memory, write to [email protected].

You deleteWhat goes
A fileThe file's text in the profile's memory. The dashboard warns: "Nject will also forget what it learned from this file."
A profileIts answers, links, files and the profile's own memory
Your accountYour profiles, with their answers, links and memory

Chats saved in your personal memory stay when you delete a profile, and they also stay when you delete your account. Read the full picture in privacy and data and the steps in manage profiles.

Tell it once. Every AI remembers you
