How to create a context profile with the NjectAI interview
You create a context profile by answering the NjectAI interview in the web app. Choose Text, Image or Search, answer a few questions about your field, your goal and your style, then add optional links, files or a writing sample. Without Nject Pro, the last step starts the 7-day trial.
How do I start the interview?
You start the NjectAI interview from the dashboard of the NjectAI web app, or from the NjectAI extension inside an AI tool. The interview asks one question at a time, each under the last, and turns your answers into a context profile. You can change any earlier answer before you finish.
- Open the dashboard and stay on the Context Profiles tab.
- Click Create new, or the Add new profile card.
- On "What will this profile create?", pick Text, Image or Search.
- Click Create Profile to start the questions.
In ChatGPT, Claude or another supported AI tool, Add new profile in the extension's Select Profile panel opens the same interview. An account without a profile is sent there after sign-in, through a short guide whose Start button opens the interview, or straight away when you came from the extension's Get Started.
When you make your first profile, the first screen also offers Skip interview & use a template. It makes a ready sample profile of the kind you picked. See template profiles.
What does the interview ask for a Text profile?
A Text profile starts with "Is this for work or for life?". Work and Personal lead to different questions. Picking a choice answers the question and brings the next one. Where a question says "You can select up to 3.", you can pick up to three. Other opens a field for your own answer: type it and press Enter.
For a work profile:
| Question | Your choices |
|---|---|
| Which field are you in? | Up to 3: Marketing & Advertising, Technology & Software, Finance & Accounting, Education & Training, Healthcare & Wellness, E-commerce & Retail, Real Estate & Property, Legal & Compliance, Media & Entertainment, Other |
| And your role there? | One role from the fields you picked, such as Product Marketing or Brand Strategist for Marketing & Advertising, or Other |
| What should this profile help you make? | One of: Emails & messages, Campaign plans & briefs, Documents & proposals, Reports & analysis, Content & copy, Presentations, SOPs & templates, Meeting notes & summaries, Project plans, Other |
| Profile name | Optional |
For a personal profile:
| Question | Your choices |
|---|---|
| What part of life? | Up to 3: Relationships & Family, Health & Wellbeing, Home & Daily Life, Learning & Hobbies, Money & Paperwork, Travel & Planning, Other |
| What should this profile help you make? | One of: Messages & invites, Letters & emails, Plans & lists, Journal entries, Social posts, Stories & creative writing, Cards & greetings, Notes & reminders, Forms & applications, Other |
| Profile name | Optional |
What does the interview ask for an Image profile?
An Image profile asks three questions about the pictures you make, then its name, then one optional question for your brand. Each question takes one choice. The answers tell NjectAI what your images are for, which image tool you write prompts for, and the look to aim for when you do not say otherwise.
| Question | Your choices |
|---|---|
| What do you make images for? | Social posts, Ads & marketing, Product shots, Blog & article art, Presentations, Thumbnails, Concept art, Personal & creative |
| Where do you generate them? | Midjourney, ChatGPT / DALL·E, Gemini / Nano Banana, Ideogram, Flux, Leonardo |
| What look should it default to? | Photographic, Illustration, 3D render, Flat / vector, Cinematic, Minimal, Mixed |
| Profile name | Optional |
| Brand or reference | Optional: "Upload reference pictures or a brand guide, or paste brand colors and style notes." |
The Brand colors and style notes field takes up to 2,000 characters. NjectAI reads each reference picture for its look and measures its colors, as Files and links in a NjectAI profile explains.
What does the interview ask for a Search profile?
A Search profile asks four questions about how you research, then its name. It has no optional questions, so the interview asks for no links or files. You can still add files to a Search profile later in the dashboard. The answers tell NjectAI what you research, how you want answers laid out, which sources you trust and how deep to go.
| Question | Your choices |
|---|---|
| What kind of research do you do? | Market & competitive, Technical & product, Academic & scientific, Financial & investment, Legal & regulatory, News & current events, Buying decisions, Other |
| How should answers come back? | Up to 3: Bullet summary, Detailed report, Comparison table, Step-by-step, Timeline, Multi-perspective, Other |
| Which sources do you trust most? | Up to 3: Academic papers, Market research, News articles, Industry blogs, Legal documents, Social media, Government data, Other |
| How deep should answers go? | Explain it simply, Working knowledge, or the expert level that skips the basics |
| Profile name | Optional |
Which interview questions are optional?
The profile name and every question after it are optional. Once the required questions are answered, the profile name appears, and under it the optional questions come together after the line "The rest is optional. Whatever you add helps it sound like you." An Image profile says "Whatever you add helps your pictures look like your brand." instead. A Search profile has only the name. Skip any of them and press Continue.
| Profile | Optional questions |
|---|---|
| Text, Work | Profile name, Your company, Add links, Add files, Show it how you write |
| Text, Personal | Profile name, Show it how you write |
| Image | Profile name, Brand or reference |
| Search | Profile name |
- Your company: "A few words about what you do. Or add your website below and it reads the rest."
- Add links: "Your website first, then any page that tells it more about you. Up to 5."
- Add files: "Decks, briefs, price lists. Anything it should know."
- Show it how you write: "Upload a document with two or three things you've written that sound like you."
If you leave the name empty, NjectAI names the profile from your answers, such as what it should help you make. You can rename it later in the dashboard.
What limits apply to my answers?
Each field in the interview stops at its limit as you type, and a file over a limit is refused with a message that names it, while your other answers stay. These are the limits of the NjectAI web app. NjectAI also turns away typed text that holds code or HTML tags, and marks that answer in red so you can reword it.
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Choices on a question that says "up to 3" | 3 |
| Your own answer (Other) and the profile name | 120 characters each |
| Links | 5, your website included, 500 characters each |
| Your company | 2,000 characters |
| Add files | Up to 5 files, PDF, DOCX and CSV, 8 MB each |
| Brand or reference | Up to 5 files, PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF or DOCX, 8 MB each |
| Show it how you write | One PDF or DOCX, up to 8 MB |
| Brand colors and style notes | 2,000 characters |
| Profiles per account | 10 |
The writing sample is stored as one of the profile's files, and a profile holds up to 10 files in all.
What happens when I finish?
What happens when you press Continue depends on your plan. With Nject Pro, a trial included, NjectAI creates the profile at once. Without it, you see the profile overview and start the 7-day trial, and NjectAI saves the profile to read once the trial starts.
With Nject Pro. The button shows "One moment..." and "Creating...", then "Reading your links..." if you added links, then "Adding your files..." if you added files. NjectAI writes your answers into the profile's memory, reads every link and file, and takes you to the dashboard with "Your profile is ready". If no other profile is active, the new one becomes your active profile. A file that could not go up is named in a message, and you can add it on the dashboard.
Without a plan. The Profile overview screen ("Almost done! Let's double-check your answer!") lists your answers. Under How to pay after the trial, choose Monthly or Yearly, save 22%, then click Start 7-day trial. NjectAI saves the profile and opens the payment window, "Start your 7-day trial", which takes a payment method. Until your plan starts, the profile waits: NjectAI keeps your answers, links and files, and reads none of them. Once the plan starts, it reads them all. See NjectAI pricing.
