Use NjectAI in Grok on grok.com and on X
NjectAI (also called Nject) works in Grok on grok.com, including Imagine and projects, and in Grok on X at x.com/i/grok. Both get Improve your prompt, Context Inject, Autocomplete and the profile bar, and your messages and Grok's answers go to your NjectAI memory. NjectAI stays off in the X feed and on Grok's skills and connectors settings.
What does NjectAI do in Grok?
In Grok, NjectAI adds a small pill to the message box once you type and the send button is showing, both on grok.com and in Grok on X. Improve your prompt rewrites your draft into a fuller, clearer prompt, and Context Inject adds your saved context to the message you send. Autocomplete offers the rest of your sentence in grey as you type, and the Tab key accepts it.
When you are signed in, a chat this browser has not seen brings the profile bar, which asks "Which profile you are using this time?". While you are signed in and Nject is switched on, your messages and Grok's finished answers are saved to your NjectAI memory, the same memory you use in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. Every feature of the extension works in both places.

Which Grok pages does NjectAI run on?
On grok.com, NjectAI runs on the pages where you write to Grok: a new chat, your chats, Imagine for pictures, and your projects. The one grok.com page it skips is skills and connectors, a settings page. Pages with no message box show no pill, since the pill appears only next to a box that holds text.
In Imagine, Improve your prompt rewrites your picture prompt, and Context Inject adds your saved context to it. An Image profile suits Imagine best: it holds what you make pictures for, the look you want by default, and any brand colors and style notes you added. Does NjectAI work in Grok on X?
Yes, on X's own Grok page, at x.com/i/grok or twitter.com/i/grok. That page gets the full set: the pill with Improve your prompt and Context Inject, Autocomplete, the profile bar, and saving your messages and Grok's answers to your NjectAI memory. NjectAI runs nowhere else on X, so your feed, posts and profiles stay untouched.
Answers from Grok on X are saved without a model name, while answers on grok.com carry the model shown in Grok's picker. Your profiles and memory are the same in both places, so context you saved for grok.com works on X too.
How do I give Grok context about my work?
Save your work details once in a NjectAI context profile, then add them to a Grok message with Context Inject. Click the syringe in the pill, or Inject in the profile bar, and NjectAI shows "Context added. Sends with your next message." The message box stays as you left it. When you send, NjectAI adds your saved context after your message, with a blank line between them, so Grok reads both and the context shows in the chat.
NjectAI uses the first 1,000 characters of your message to pick the saved facts that fit it. Click the syringe again to take the context back ("Context cleared."), and opening another chat before you send drops it. More in Context Inject.
- Create a context profile with your field, your role, your goal and, if you like, your company. For Imagine, create an Image profile.
- Open a new chat on grok.com or at x.com/i/grok. In the bar that asks "Which profile you are using this time?", pick the profile and click Inject. If the bar has gone, type your message first and click Context Inject in the pill.
- Write your message as usual.
- Send it. Your context goes out after your message.
Does NjectAI save my Grok chats?
Yes, on grok.com and on X. While you are signed in and Nject is switched on, NjectAI saves each message you send to Grok and each answer Grok finishes while the page is open. On grok.com an answer is saved with the model shown in Grok's model picker, and on X without a model name. Messages already on the screen from before are left alone.
Everything goes to the personal memory of your NjectAI account, the one NjectAI draws on whichever profile you pick. Saving runs with or without Nject Pro, and it has no switch of its own.
