> NjectAI (also called Nject) works in Gemini on gemini.google.com and in Google AI Mode in Google Search. Both get Improve your prompt, Context Inject and the profile bar, and your messages and answers go to your NjectAI memory. Autocomplete runs in Gemini only, and NjectAI stays off in ordinary search results and the AI Overview.

## What does NjectAI do in Gemini and Google AI Mode?

In Gemini and in Google AI Mode, NjectAI adds a small pill to the message box once you type and the send button is showing. The pill holds **Improve your prompt**, which rewrites your draft into a clearer prompt, and **Context Inject**, which adds your saved context to the message you send. When you are signed in, both places also get the profile bar in a chat this browser has not seen, asking "Which profile you are using this time?".

While you are signed in and Nject is switched on, NjectAI saves your messages and the finished answers in both places to your NjectAI memory, the same memory ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Grok use. The one difference is Autocomplete. It suggests the rest of your prompt in Gemini, and it stays off in Google AI Mode.

| Feature | Gemini | Google AI Mode |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Improve your prompt | Yes | Yes |
| Context Inject | Yes | Yes |
| Autocomplete | Yes | No |
| Profile bar | Yes | Yes |
| Saving chats to memory | Yes, with the model shown in Gemini's picker | Yes, without a model name |

:::note
Improve your prompt, Context Inject and Autocomplete are part of Nject Pro. See [plans and billing](https://nject.ai/docs/plans-and-billing) for the price and the 7-day trial. To set NjectAI up, add it from the [Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ojddfcbggidlmbjnlgdgiikhejhlmmeh) and follow the [install guide](https://nject.ai/docs/install).

## How do I give Gemini context about my business?

Save your business details once in a NjectAI context profile, then add them to a Gemini message with Context Inject. Click the syringe in the pill, or **Inject** in the profile bar, and NjectAI shows "Context added. Sends with your next message." The message box stays as you left it. When you send, NjectAI adds your saved context after your message, with a blank line between them, so Gemini reads both and the context shows in the chat.

The same steps work in Google AI Mode. NjectAI picks the saved facts that fit your message using its first 1,000 characters. Click the syringe again to take the context back, and NjectAI shows "Context cleared." Opening another chat before you send drops it too. More in [Context Inject](https://nject.ai/docs/context-inject).

:::steps
1. [Create a context profile](https://nject.ai/docs/create-a-profile) with your field, your role, your goal and, if you like, your company.
2. Open a new chat in Gemini. In the bar that asks "Which profile you are using this time?", pick the profile and click **Inject**. If the bar has gone, type your message first and click **Context Inject** in the pill.
3. Write your message as usual.
4. Send it. Your context goes out after your message.

:::tip
From the dashboard, open **Use profile** on a profile card and choose **Gemini**. NjectAI makes that profile your active one and opens a new Gemini chat in a new tab.

## Where in Google Search does NjectAI run?

Only in Google AI Mode, the chat in Google Search. NjectAI turns on when the address carries AI Mode's mark, udm=50, or starts with google.com/ai, and on a search page that still shows AI Mode's own message box. Ordinary search results stay untouched, and so does the AI Overview at the top of them, its follow-up box included. You see no pill, no profile bar and no header button there, and nothing from those pages is saved.

NjectAI loads on google.com and www.google.com. Google's country sites, such as google.co.uk, are outside its list, so AI Mode on those sites runs without NjectAI.

| Page on Google | NjectAI |
| --- | --- |
| Google AI Mode on google.com | On, without Autocomplete |
| Ordinary search results | Off |
| The AI Overview and its follow-up box | Off |
| Google's country sites, such as google.co.uk | Off |

## Why is there no Autocomplete in Google AI Mode?

The extension switches Autocomplete off for Google AI Mode, so no grey suggestion appears there, even when the **Autocomplete** switch in the toolbar menu is on. Everything else works in AI Mode: Improve your prompt and Context Inject in the pill, the profile bar, and saving your messages and the answers to your NjectAI memory.

In Gemini, Autocomplete works as it does in the other tools. Once you have typed at least 10 characters, with the cursor at the end of your text, NjectAI suggests the rest of your prompt in grey with the badge "Press TAB to apply". Tab accepts the suggestion and Escape dismisses it. More in [Autocomplete](https://nject.ai/docs/autocomplete).

## Does NjectAI save my Gemini and AI Mode chats?

Yes, in both. While you are signed in and Nject is switched on, NjectAI saves each message you send and each answer that finishes while the page is open. A Gemini answer is saved with the model shown in Gemini's model picker. An AI Mode answer is saved without a model name, because AI Mode shows no model picker. Messages already on the screen from before are left alone.

Everything goes to the personal memory of your NjectAI account, the one NjectAI draws on whichever profile you pick. Saving runs with or without Nject Pro, and it has no switch of its own. Switch Nject off in the toolbar menu, or sign out, to stop it. [NjectAI privacy](https://nject.ai/docs/privacy-and-data) explains what is stored and what you can delete.
